XEN is excited to host and present a workshop of speculative fiction that utilizes techniques of art performance, cinema, and sound improvisation in order to enable an environment for the construction of a collective narrative sculpture. This narrative will be based on two axes: (un)common ancestry and future. As images appear it will become necessary to decipher the characters, environments, and events (experiences) that they present. Employed in fields of psychology and experimental art, the proposal for this workshop is to use the minimum of logic and the maximum of intuition for fable-making, so we may operate with the network of the unconscious.
It is important that participants write down their dreams the night (or multiple nights) before the workshop. These dreams will be the basis of the development of the workshop. The first part will focus on the process of deterritorialization of the dream, the second on the development of collective speculation through rituals, free cosmogony, and magical thinking, and the third on the construction of narrative sculpture.
1- Oneiric practice (dream, translation in different languages)
2- Intertextual analysis (exercises in intense thinking)
3- Art & clinic languages (schichoanalyzis, oppressed theatre, onirodrama)
4- Noisecracy (sound, voice, hubbub, soufflé, whisper)
5- Communitas of unconscious (intensive communication, intuition)
6- Ritual DiY (do it yourself rituals – free cosmogony - magical thinking)
7- Narrative Sculpture (the shape of the narrative will be decided in the group)
